9/30/2010
Woke up today with a sore throat. I did make it to core stretching with Megan (she is the best) She has been working Melanie really hard. Breakfast consisted of a peanut butter and jelly paninni and some fruit. A great morning starter. Off to the beach hike. It was awesome!!! Sand, stairs, up and down, rocks, caves and water. After hiking it was pool class with Revena. We nick name here the Renenator!!! Lunch was salad, tortilla soup and mini pizzas; Mmmmm Lecture was a cooking demo today. Ball works was hard but a lot of fun. It really depends how much you put into these exercises is what benefits you get out of them. I heard treading was the hardest class. Off to treading i go. I chose the bike to warm up; pedal for 5 minutes as fast as i can then 5 minutes at normal speed. This goes on for 4 minutes, 4 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute x2. I pushed so hard (and it wasn't because Ursula was standing over me) Pool class finished off the day of workouts. Dinner was chicken, veggies and rice. Of course salad. Dessert was chocolate covered strawberries. Lot's of "Biggest Loser" activity going on here. It's starting to cool off here. I meet more and more people (and you know how shy I am) it's been a lot of fun. See ya tomorrow!

Hello everyone, well on yesterdays hike we asked the hiking trainer what was the hardest hike of them all. He said Solstice; well behold guess which hike I am going on today "Solstice" (i was a little nervous) After a hearty breakfast I got ready for the hike. I sure do have a lot of nice people to hike with. I have to tell you it was hell hiking straight up a mountain. It was hard but it was well worth it:-) The sights were beautiful!!! After the hike it was nice to catch my breath than do stretch class with Macaela. Lunch was good French Onion soup, salad and a greek pita that didn't look good but was great!!! Lecture..... Mountain (what goes up still goes up) You can do this on any machine that you choose. I skipped the water class and did some more cardio. Then it was off to kickboxing (i was looking forward to this because i wanted to hit something) :-0 Off to dinner; no chance to clean up:-( Dinner was Salmon, Couscous, asparagus (Mmmmmmm) Dessert was pineapple with a strawberry sauce. The biggest surprise was after dinner: Daruis George walked in and sat next to me!!! We all talked to him, took pictures and got all the secrets.... He is a very nice young man. Answered a bunch of questions and took pictures. He looks great!!! Mel gave him a smooch!!! Did some laundry, showered and now kicking it. It actually sprinkled tonight. Well, I hope you enjoy the pictures. Take Care

Well, finished day 2 at the BLR! Didn't make the early stretch class because I didn't know it was available. (oops) Megan wondered where we were; won't make that mistake:-) Breakfast was very good. I was on the Latigo hike today. We kicked it out of the park under 2 hours. Next was the wonderful pool!!! Let me tell you just because you are in the pool does NOT mean it is easy!!! Lunch was delicious as usual: Talapia tacos and the best tomato soup. We had our lecture with a cooking demonstration. Then it was off to the cardio intervals! Let me tell you; it kicked my ass! I pushed really hard (very proud of my self) Next was Total Toning which was intense. I was sweating like a pig but it was worth it!!! I wanted to shower but NO time. Dinner called! I remember dinner very well. It's too darn bad I forgot my camera. Enchilada with some HOT sauce, salad and pineapple sorbet. I skipped out of the lecture (don't tell anybody) Finally a shower!!! Kicking it with my girl and watching The Biggest Loser. It looks like I'm burning around 3,000 calories a day and taking in 1,200. Hopefully I can lose this keg and turn it into at least a twelve pack before I leave. I really like my hiking group. They are all nice and we are pretty much equal in our pace. Until tomorrow...

Mel woke me up at 4am because she couldn't sleep. Went to stretch at 6am. (that was very cool) Had breakfast; egg mcmuffin with egg whites, veggies, bacon (turkey)whole wheat muffin and some fruit. Then off to the hike from hell. (4 miles up and down hills) It might not have been so bad if it wasn't so darn hot!!! After the hike it was off to the pool. We had a choice between mountain or pool. (no brainer) After the pool workout we had a nice lunch of salad, asparagus soup and turkey sandwich with tomatoes on a whole wheat bun. We had a lecture on RMR; I was soooo tired that I did take a little snooze. (i felt bad) After lunch was circuit training. It was a little unorganized and very hot in the room. I was going to go to the pool for class since power steps was cancelled due to the heat in the room. I had a pounding headache and took a little time to rest in our room. Then it was back to the pool. Dinner was next and was very good. Salad, chicken, mashed potato, asparagus with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar/lemon. Dessert was banana and chocolate. We had a nutrition lecture that was quite good. Now I'm back in the room deciding if I want to lift some weights. (don't think it's going to happen; will keep you posted) 1,200 calories for the day; I'm still alive. I will be posting some pictures soon. Thanks for checking out my blog
9/26/2010 Made it to the BLR
We made it to the resort around 4:00. It's very HOT!!! When the valet took our bags he asked if we were going to be here months. (2weeks; here's a $5.00, no more questions) (lol) The staff here are incredibley nice. There will be 76 guest here this first week. Our cabin is very cute but of course small. We didn't have much time, checked in, had to fill out a medical form.......and make it to our assessment all within 30 minutes. After meeting our trainers: Megan, Ursula (very nice and cute too) we made it down to the dining room. We met people from all over the world: Australia, Canada and of course all over the US. Dinner consisted of a salad, a cafe salad (whole wheat tortilla, chicken, black beans, veggies...) it was pretty good (i could do without the bellpeppers) for dessert we had some kind of parfait. (it was really good) I wasn't going to take any chances; I ate everything. (only 1,200 calories a day-you would eat everything too) I did forget to get my piece of fruit for the night (damn) After dinner, we finally unpacked our 3 suitcases, electronics and toiletries (did i tell you the room was small) (lol) After unpacking we thought we would head to the pool (8:30) I don't know where everyone was but we had the pool all to ourselves and the hot tub too. We went back to our room to find our key didn't work:-( Luckily there was a nice lady to fix our key. We read awhile and then hit the hay for a cozy night's sleep:-)
